Just time off the #1 spot, but you can check the others if there seem to be 
problems. I generally just use the other flat when I'm adjusting the valves, so 
I know that I'm close to TDC for #2 & 4.

To see more precisely where TDC must be, you can look at the #1 timing marks 
and note where in the flat the TDC notch falls. You can consider there to be a 
"virtual" notch in the corresponding position of the plain flat.

Don't take it upon yourself to put a mark there, however. I'd be worried that 
this might just lead to confusion, and there's no reason to use it for timing, 
since you can't set the timing for different cylinders independently.
