There should be a good supply of bumpers somewhere in CA, and it is most likely that someone on the list has already offered you one closeby. OTOH, a nice 2 x 6 oak plank cut to the right length and stained or painted to your liking would probably actually be stronger than the original. All you would need would be a pair of brackets.
