Re: VW LICENSING PROGRAM (loooong)

<x-flowed>aaron,

the "low profile" strategy only goes so far.

you might not realize that using current internet tools like search engines they have no problem finding who uses their name. i personally believe that the safest litigation-avoidance-strategy is to be proactive about this issue, at least it shows i am acting in good faith. the attorneys might not get that impression if they can prove that you knew about the licensing program (which they probably can if you received that email message yourself) but decided to "sit it out".

obviously everyone has a different comfort level. my site has been around for close to 7 years now and receives a very steady high level of traffic. there isn't many alternatives on the web for the 411 and 412 so i want to make sure it stays up.

I thought about applying when I started my website,

figured it best to keep a low profile. :)

al,

i got the same email because i had signed up to get
more information a
few months back. i run a pretty large website (
http://www.type4.org )
and could also be a potential target for litigation.
