Dave, no problem- you didn't mislead me. I have been looking for a suitable replacement for ages now and the chance was too good to miss. It was 10gbp and they said if it didn't fit they'd take it back so I didn't lose anything. This seal is almost flat- ours needs to be much more like a sink plunger. Just thought I'd save anyone else the trouble. Shame though. I think I need to prowl around a classic show- perhaps the Bromley pageant and check out as many fillers as I can- I'm sure that some other car has the same or very similar fitting. I recently looked at a 70's notch in Essex that had been imported from Sweden. It had a perfect, like new seal. So I'm guessing but maybe an old Saab or Volvo would be worth investigating? This was an interesting car as it seemed to have blowers fitted into the sills, and it had a mains sump heater complete with long lead wrapped around the bumper.
