There are two main concerns and a few minor ones. Main concerns: make a good modified hanger system to support the engine, and make a cooling air intake system that will pull in cool air from the same source that the type 3 got its. If you just leave the rear of the new engine open and ask it to pull in its own cooling air it will soon overheat because the air there has been preheated by the engine. (ie the air just goes round and round, getting hotter and hotter.) Minor concerns: flywheel, tranny input shaft, clearance above the engine for carbs, etc. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
