Body metal and soft parts are NLA, so watch for good, rust-free fenders and bumpers and rubber or vinyl parts. The dashboard is almost always cracked. Rubber window trim is sometimes bad and often unavailable. Your brakes will be needing a good going over. I recommend that you check things out and rebuild what is necessary. If you still have the original calipers, rebuilding is much preferable to replacing. I offer rebuilding service for any of the brake parts if you prefer not to do it yourself. The FI is an excellent system, but they have often been replaced by people who didn't understand it, or couldn't find knowledgable mechanics to deal with it. This list will help you keep yours going if you, hopefully, get it intact. If not, there's still lots of help here, but you MUST get as much info from the previous owner as possible before he disappears. Unfortunately, they seldom know much and are of little help here. There is an "overflow" hose under the RF fender that is usually cracked or broken. This will need to be fixed. The OE part itself is NLA. Is it AT or 4-speed? Both are good. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
