For some reason beetle heads have a locating dowel where that hole is, and have a mating hole in the manifold. > Crap, my '67 Square has those gaskets on it. I have them installed the same way John J. does, as I saw it pictured in a manual. There are no air leaks or running problems that I've noticed. The 3/4 side had an air leak when I bought the car, I removed the manifold, surfaced it, and reinstalled with a new metal gasket. That cured the leak. Something to correct this weekend. -- Everett Barnes '67 Squareback ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
