All 4 of the Type 3s I've owned have had the same mangled timing hole problem. I think the Idiot's Guide is to blame for this, since Muir suggests turning the engine by using a screwdriver in the timing hole. Anyone know how this bad idea got started? Was it Muir's invention? Is this the proper method if Muirs is obviously wrong?!
