No, can't find evidence of any change in the generator until 12V. I
think the VW workshop manual's specific mention of the reduction of the
pulley to generator ratio implies that the objective of the change was
to slow the generator's rpm. The voltage regulator was also the same for
all 6V Type 3s; maybe the pulley change took some stress off both the
generator and the VR.
