Thanks. I'll probably end up doing this around the same time as you due to the fact that I'm in the middle of replacing the whole front end at the moment. I've replaced both inner fenders and now all I have to do is the front valence and the section in front of the window with the vents in it before I can start on the rockers- Lucky I have one that I cut from another car! I get a feeling that I should have scrapped this car but like some of the other members of the list it seems that the worse the state of the car, the more I want to attempt to bring it back to life.... Plenty of body filler and no-one will know the difference ;-) -----Original Message----- From: type3@vwtype3.org [mailto:type3@vwtype3.org] On Behalf Of Richard Steinburg Sent: 22 November 2002 08:42 To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Rocker Repairs I am about to make this same repair this coming spring. From what I have heard, welding a metal tube accross the door is recommended whenever taking the body off of our old vw's. Personally, even if the old rockers seem pretty sound it's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck! ... and let me know how it went when you are done. -Rich ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joe Barnes" <joebarnes84@hotmail.com> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Thursday, November 21, 2002 6:34 AM Subject: [T3] Rocker Repairs > I have a question regarding rocker replacement.
