BrianS=> Dropped spindles will still affect caster, => but do you think it will be as drastic? I think caster is affected by how much lower the car is in front relative to the rear. If it's dropped evenly, caster should remain about the same. (My car's a special case -- front-end collision left the frame horns pushed back. That plus a minor forward tilt leaves me at about 0 caster.) => I was hoping to be able to design caster shims => this winter, ... My mechanic successfully shimmed the 911-powered Notch with slabs of rubber 7mm thick. This is the same approach that VW used, albeit with a single part (thicker beam rubbers). He needs more caster for drag racing.
