Cant you just picture all the Dim streetlights in Jim's neighborhood??  and
who was that down at the local Home Depot ordering all those new Anderson
windows?  :-)

Seriously... Jims post really explains things pretty well.
Now... for some practical example's
My 71 Square is dripping with electrical gizmo's (as the Parma folk know),
Power windows, foglights, aftermarket stereo, Gas heater, trailer lights and
headlights that are wired to light both filiments on high beams... to name
just a few...
I get about 20K out of a Generator before the brushes need changing... about
half the life of a stock setup but brushes are so cheap and easy to
change... the regulator has over 100Kmi on it and I got 9 years out of the
last battery so that certainly isnt being taxed.
So... for my needs I just dont need anything more.
