Re: [T3] Fuel sending unit

Does it show full or overfull if you short the sender connection to body?
Could be the meter is over-reading. If it looks OK, maybe the float is
sticking on the wire - corrosion below or something.
"NEW" sender?? What did you do? Is this a recent fitment? Is it a Type 3
one, with an embossed part number starting 311 ?

Subject: [T3] Fuel sending unit

This morning I started up my car, let it warm up a bit while I applied the
anti-fog juice to my interior windows, the car died. Restarted...died.
Restarted...had to keep the accelerator depressed. But it wasn't running
right. This kept on going on, so I hopped out, took a look at the engine to
check connections, and there was no gas in the filter. WTF? How could this
be, gauge said I had a 1/4 tank. Sure enough, it was empty. Just glad I
wasn't on the freeway or something.

Is there a way to correct the gauge or is this a problem with the "NEW"
sending unit?
