Does it show full or overfull if you short the sender connection to body? Could be the meter is over-reading. If it looks OK, maybe the float is sticking on the wire - corrosion below or something. "NEW" sender?? What did you do? Is this a recent fitment? Is it a Type 3 one, with an embossed part number starting 311 ? Dave. Restarted...died. Restarted...had to keep the accelerator depressed. But it wasn't running right. This kept on going on, so I hopped out, took a look at the engine to check connections, and there was no gas in the filter. WTF? How could this be, gauge said I had a 1/4 tank. Sure enough, it was empty. Just glad I wasn't on the freeway or something. Is there a way to correct the gauge or is this a problem with the "NEW" sending unit?
