<x-charset iso-8859-1>> the oversize stud is 111 405 175 A > > the pin is N 013 305 1 > > Now I wonder which manual described this...? > The procedure is in the factory Type 3 workshop manual almost exactly as Jim has described - drive out the dowel pin, drill out the remains of the stud (3mm pilot then 10.75mm). Drill hole 12.3mm and ream with 12.5 P8 12.455 - 12.482 (0.49035" - 0.4912") reamer. If the reamer isn't available, grind down the replacement stud to give an interference fit of 0.01 - 0.5mm (0.0004" - 0.020"). Stud sticks out 45mm - 45.5mm. Drill a 4mm hole in the stud for the dowel pin. Drive in the pin. After all those precision reaming instructions, it's OK to have the hole 1/2mm smaller! Dave.
