[T3] cold air induction

reduces air pressure on the combustion intake. Someone else said that
trying
to use the fan to raise pressure on the intake would be
counterproductive,
since the intake pulls more air than the fan can supply. This implies
to me
that the intake would steal air from cooling rather than vice versa.

The cooling fan pulls about 1400cfm at about 4000rpm (don't remember
exact stats). Now even a 2L engine at 6000rpm would probably only use
300-400cfm. So, if anything, the cooling fan could starve the carbs,
but there is so much air available through the louvers that niether
will starve. I believe (IIRC) the last time I looked into the carb
hole in the apron, there was a small "dam" on one side, which probably
helps flow into the carbs.
I don't think it is worth loosing sleep over. My thinking is to
seperate the two to reduce turbulance.....or maybe my brain is just
off on one of those wild hair tangents again. Just can't leave
anything alone.
