Well, I'm back again. I'm going to give you the full story and then ask for advice because I just don't know what to do with my Fasty, its beating me down. It's been with my Mechanic/Friend for the last 3-4 weeks. The problem was that it was just bogging down when you press on the gas, no power at all. Also this just happened one day. I drove it the day before and it was fine ran great, then I took it out and it just would not go, just bogging down. So I checked all the ignition parts and found the timing to be off. When I tried to adjust the idle, I could not get it past 800rpm's at the correct timing. I tried this many, many times to make sure I had everything right. I ended up disconnecting the vacuum lines and adjusting the idle that way, then I just adjusted the timing so that I could get the engine to stay running at a decent idle etc and so I could get it to the mechanic. With the engine adjusted in this manner, I was able to drive at about 50mph top speed, in First the car would barely move, but then second it was crusing fine and 3rd it would cruz nicely, just not very fast. Once I got to the mechanic he adjusted all the ignition parts to spec and found only 7lbs of fuel pressure. He replaced the regulator and was able to adjust the pressure to 28psi, he also stated that he removed some 'junk' from the fuel lines. He also found that the injectors were firing erratically, but had a good spray when working. But the car still runs the same. He thought it might be the ECU so he swapt out mine for a know good one and it changed nothing ( I did not think it would). I checked inside the tank and found no significant sediment or rust, filler neck seems in pretty good condition. Another thing, the last time it was in the shop was because I did not install the dist right and they had to reset the drive gear, could they have set it wrong and this is why it won't idle or time correctly? So are there any suggestions. Or places I should start? I have some new trigger points that I may install just cause I have them (I'll need advice on removing and installing the dist too since I botched it last time). I was also thinking of replacing all the fuel lines and checking every electrical connection. Sorry this is so long, but I don't know where to turn.
