RE: [T3] Fastback engine questions...

really thinking about getting this car, but don't want to back myself into a
corner i can't get out of.

Well this is my point of view.
If you know anything about how engines work or are mechanical in any
way, you can handle the Type 3. I know absolutely diddly. But with this
list, the Bentley, and the Idiots Guide I seem to be able to keep my car
running. The FI system can be frustrating, but only if your not thorough
(like me). It really requires patience. Just like any electrical system
you have to do a lot of testing to find the problem. But it is all pretty
logical.
Then it also depends on the car, I have a 72 fastback that has
givin' me lots to work on. But, previously, I had a 69 Square that never had
a single problem with the FI, not an injector, loose wire, nothing, ran like
a dream for the two years I had it.
So if you dig the T3's then go ahead. But if you plan on sticking a
T1 engine in it, I think it would be a shame to waste good money, let
someone else enjoy its uniqueness.
BTW, I think that intermitten "just quits" could be a loose
connection, dirty trigger points, or head temp sensor.
Hope to hear from you on the 'List'.

Thanks,
