Hi Neil et al. The Subie motor is a 1.8 SPFI, not too grunty, but double the VW HP (well the 1500 I had anyway). I sorted out al the EFI stuff my self... What a mission! The car was an auto, so there were about 40 wires I needed, and about 100 I didn't! Bugger! I've got it as a relatively self-contained unit, so I've just wired it into the car quite easily. The adapter plate I imported from Australia. The unit works well, very torquey from about 2000, and makes a hell of a bang at 7500 when the *ignition* is cut and the fuel isn't... and straight pipes! I do NOT want to butcher any panel on this car, So I might be able to mount a raditor nice and low under the front valance, and run pipes back to the engine. I suppose it must be possible, I'll familiarise myself with the type 3 when I get it. BTW anybody got a Barn or Garage in the upper North Island (New Zealand) for sale?? :-) Anyway, if you want any details for the subie conversion I might be able to help, catch you later :-) Allan :-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "neil verdon" <Neil.Verdon@t-online.de> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Friday, May 24, 2002 1:57 AM Subject: Re: [T3] New Listee :-) but I do have a Subaru impreza engine all > set up for a VW :-) hello there, there is a lovely place up front where the spare wheel goes on a t3 for a radiator without too much modification ! i once thought about the possibility of using two mini radiators mounted in the rear wings where normally cooling air is drawn in any way this would require a bit of more thought mind ! Scooby engine in a three way to go what have you done to make the engine vw compliant so far?
