Hello everyone. I thought I might chime in for Shad, since that's my job too :) Both Shad and I have type 4 powered type 3's with Nickies (the solid aluminum billet cnc nicasil plated cylinders), but for those looking for better cooling on a budget, our Biral Babies are the solution. We take ductile iron liners (2 x stronger than cast iron) and then add CNC'ed aluminum cooling area equivalent in quality and detail as found on our Nickies. I don't want to rant on and on nor do I want to give a shameless plug, but our web address is http://www.LNengineering.com. We make our products for both the type 1 based engine crowd, as well as the type 4 crowd for those who were wondering. We're also going to make up a T4 conversion kit for those wanting type 4 motors in their type 3s and don't want to mess with fabricating something themselves, just in case a type 4 is beckoning you from the dark side :) If anyone on the list has any questions whatsoever, or you just want to chat up a storm, give us a call. Both Shad and I love to chat about our passions until we're blue in the face. Neil: If you keep having computer issues, give me a call. I was a computer science major in college and I'm pretty good around any Microsoft product and working around the quirks :) Take care, Charles Navarro LN Engineering http://www.LNengineering.com Aircooled Precision Performance -----Original Message----- From: neil verdon [mailto:Neil.Verdon@t-online.de] Sent: Wednesday, May 29, 2002 4:48 PM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Engine size advice well on a t3 you can safely stroke as much as you can stuff into the case with clearance but if you go up in bore sizes then its going to tax the cooling system. one possible answer for this would be shad laws new nicasil cylinders or biral cylinders that his firm LNenginering are producing. shad chime up now if your in the house with your link i just got a new computer ser up and i cant import things from my old machine for some reason (xp?). if shad dont chime in go to the shoptalk forums and do a search in the t4rum for nickies or biral babies . im not gonna explain why these will allow bigger bores on a t3 pancake but aluminiums cooling ability comes into play here. me well im just sticking a t4 lump in but be warned it is not cheap you could probably build two decent sized t3 engines for the price of a t4 as two wich would be better and less hassle in the long run i fell the big block t4 wins go to the t4rum again for some top info and the sister site t4 secrets revealed. neil verdon. 66 sqr irs pan. 93 passat vr6 waiting only for my exhaust for my t4. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
