<x-charset iso-8859-1>It's best to check the parts before replacement, if it's pulling left or right the MC will not be at fault, for the calipers you can remove the pads and check if there's a sticking piston, it would be painful on the wallet replacing all the main hardware only to find the rubber flexible hoses had collapsed inside which seems to be more common these days as original hoses are getting long in the tooth. If it turns out not be the brakes it would be worth checking the needle bearings in the front beam. I had a collapsed bearing once that sent my car to the left under braking. My money is on the flexible hoses though, cheap and easy to replace. Also check the archives for this topic too for additional info. cheers, Dan '73 Fastback ---- -----Original Message----- From: Bryan "bc" Castles [mailto:bc@version3.net] Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2002 3:49 AM To: Type3 Subject: [T3] Brakes Okay, as if I have enough to work on, I need to do some brake work on the Square. Here's my question. How available are the pads/shoes and how available are caliper rebuild kits? Right now, the car will stop, but it pulls hard right as it does so. I also experience some low pressure situations in which the pedal easily hits the floor. It's not consistent though. I expect I'll have to rebuild much of it. How hard is it to come by the master cylinder? Wheel cylinder? A striped Giraffe? I figured I was asking enough questions...
