How did it damage the threads? You'd have to turn the fan backwards to 
check compression, why not work from the other end with the larger hex on 
the gland nut?

I recommend RIMCO for case work, but I much prefer Berg for balancing.

We're both happy. Do you mean left bank (# 3 & 4) stud torque? Yes, it does 
look suspicious that those 2 were both low like that.
