On the IRS Type 3 suspension, both the axles are the same length on the
manual trans, but they are different lengths on the automatic
transmissions.
On the swing axle trannies, the area of the splines and wheel bearing is
the same on all axles. The length difference was in the non machined
areas. And in the axle tubes.
