<x-charset iso-8859-1>I do know that it has just cost VWoA a sale to my wife and I. Her brother totaled her Ford Taurus recently and she was in the market for another car. She found a Passat she fell in love with, but due to VWoA's recent actions she decided against it. So tonight, a new-to-us Taurus Wagon resides in the driveway. I love my aircooled cars, but I can't do anything to support VWoA anymore. I ordered a "dealer only" part for my Audi 4000 recently at the local dealership. They acted as if what I wanted was beneath them. I had a printout from an EKTA CD-ROM and part number when I went in, but they didn't really want to help me. Their whole attitude in the parts department was that I should just get a "new" VW or Audi. It's a stupid little $3.00 part and they said it would be in within 3 days. It's been 1 1/2 weeks now, and still no part. So much for VWoA service. Now they are positioning themselves to recapitalize the VW name or in simpler terms corner the market on air-cooled VW specific parts. Sounds far fetched but VW isn't really doing well in the financial statement bottom line. Additionally if they wanted to distance themselves from the type 1,2 and 3 cars, why do they use them in VW AD's. Just a thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web! Visit http://www.vwtype3.org/list/ </x-charset>
