I remember someone at one point said they found a web site with how to properly tune Webers. I used to have them but can't remember the proper tuning offhand. There's a book by Bob Tomlinson all about Weber Carbs and their proper tuning. This is very useful. I think it's called the Weber tune-up guide or something like that. My memory is fried. It also has jetting specs in it for VW applications, and this is important. If your idle jets aren't right, then no amount of tuning will make the carbs run right. So if the jets too big, you'll always run rich. Note that this particular book mentions white smoke and poor mileage as a condition of BOTH running too rich and too lean. Frustrating. Kind of like the plant books telling you when your plant's leaves turn yellow its because you're either over-watering or not watering enough>:-8 -- Mike Wodkowski 72 FI SQBK Brooklyn wodkowski@mac.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
