The mechanical advance part will work fine, but the vacuum advance may actually give you a vacuum retard if plumbed into the usual place. This would be counterproductive. Pulling the vacuum hose off this distributor should make NO change at idle. If it does, you have it connected to a port that has the wrong vacuums at the wrong times for this vacuum advance. Still, even if you disconnect the vac advance, this dist has a very nice advance curve and will work well.
