Hi listees. I have been building a budget 1641 for my square. I picked up a set of lightly used (1,000 mi) 87 mm pistons and cylinders from a friend. Upon installation I encountered a problem. Cylinders 3 + 4 installed fine with the script (on the crown) upright and the arrow pointing toward the flywheel. Cylinders 1+2 on the other hand, would have the script upside down if I were to install them with the arrow pointing toward the flywheel. There is some slight wear marks on the bottom of the pistons which indicate that this would be an improper installation, plus I imagine they would "slap" if the offset of the wristpin were upside down. Apparently I have a mismatch set of pistons, and I haven't been able to contact the seller. My question is, is it OK if I install 1+2 rightside up with the arrow pointing the wrong way? Any input would be more than helpful. thank you, coolwhip cool43whip@aol.com ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
