<x-charset iso-8859-1>Here is a way of removing the wires from the head light socket. Tool required- one small screwdriver as in something small enough for the screw in a set of eyeglass frames, OR something small like a piece of .047" piano wire. If you use wire, round or "pointy" the end a bit. After removing plug from light, look at the face of the plug. You will see 3 slots. Those 3 slots have a slight opening kinda piggy-backed on the slot. This added little bit of space is where ya stick your small pointy thing in................... to release the little barb on the contact that will allow the wire and contact to be removed from the plug thus allowing the wires to pass through the rubber fender wiring tube without severing the wire. whew, say that sentence fast a few times. It helps to push the wire into the socket lightly so as to keep the barb from digging into the plastic and making it more difficult. Fairly easy once mastered. Now if you fail this or find badly corroded contacts, get a new plug and graft it on with a moisture proof splice or solder and seal up. btw, don't forget to make a little diagram of which wire goes where. Plus you can tweak the barb up a bit to about a 45 degree angle before re-installing.
