Hello all, I am having trouble getting my carbs synced after rebuilding them. I set the mixture screws to the recommended 1.5 turns and it wouldn't start. I fiddled with the mixture screws until I realised I had turned the chokes on too far, reset those and managed to get it to fire up. Then it backfired, and the left carb caught on fire, so I put that out and fiddled with the mixture some more, but it doesn't want to idle, every time I lift my foot off the accelerator it dies, sometimes backfiring and making the left carb catch on fire. Because I don't want to burn my car up I have left it for the night, but has anyone got any tricks for initially syncing the carbs when I have another go tomorrow morning?
