It was Simon Glen that wrote this, and the Variant II is a Brazilian 2nd
generation type 3, basically. It has a look that's a cross between the
Dasher and 412, but a type 3 drivetrain, including the alternator pancake
engine. There are pictures in Greg's scrapbook. As you probably know, the
aircooled cars lasted much longer in South America than elsewhere.
