You might want to have it polished and checked fro cracks by a pro before
reusing the crank.

I know the feeling Jim. When I moved back in 1989, there was no internet to
speak of. I had a 24'x24' garage that I could just barely get a VW in to work
on it. When I moved, I hauled it all to the scrap yard. It was complete
engines, automatic trannies, manual trannies, you name it it was there. And
now it is all either recyled into a a Toyota/Honda, maybe even a Cadillac or
in the land fill.
My current garage is a 24x24, and I can only get one car into it, and I don't
have the luxury of a basement, as I built my house finished on the lower
level. Things are starting to accumulate, since I started messing with VW's
again.
I almost have the wife convinced to let me put up a 30x40 machine shed to use
as a shop, then she can get her car into the garage and get out without
getting grease on here clothes.
BTW, the '66 drove out of the garage under its own power yesterday so she
could get her car in.
I am going to wait until spring to rebuild the engine in it for Parma. It has
the better body.
