It's really just a showcase for rare vintage performance parts. I doubt that actual performance was the builder's goal. Just needs to run well enough to get the car off the trailer. Reminds me that I saw a VW Fridolin at the last Pomona swap that had been given the full Rat Fink vintage hotrod treatment. Not really logical or practical but it sure turned a lot of heads...
