<x-charset iso-8859-1>Jason=> I adjusted my valves at 0'... => close enough ...? That's exactly right. Ignition does not fire at TDC, it varies. => my distributor is an 009 Does that make a => difference in the timing? Probably, since advance varies with the different distributors. Again, check your total advance. My experience with the 009 has been that it gave me about 20 degrees full out, so if you time at 7.5 BTDC you can expect total advance of about 27.5, and this should be fine at sea level. But definitely check it -- build quality varies pretty widely on the 009s. (And again, I don't recommend that anyone use this distributor in a Typ 3 if you can avoid it -- it sucks.)
