If you are unconscious or just preoccupied, this could turn the accident into a tragedy. In the normal FI system, the pump relay is controlled by the FI brain. The brain shuts off the pump if it senses that the engine has not been turning over for the last ~1 second. Getting this system to work is simple. This is a VERY important safety feature.
