Stop right there!

You probably don't have the right gland nut for the AT. There is a 
special AT gland nut which is thinner and lacks the internal pilot 
bearing that the MT flywheel needs. If you try to force this one to 
work, you will just break the drive place, not right away, but in a 
few weeks.
