It's fairly common for that lower bolt to fall out of the channel, and this lets 
the channel come out of alignment. Make sure that you put the bolt back in 
with the proper spring washer so it stays put. That channel is part of the vent 
window frame. I hope it really isn't broken, because it really is a pain to 
replace. If you replace it, just replace the whole vent window/channel 
assembly.

Check the regulator. There is a dog-leg in the arm about 1/3rd out from the 
pivot; that dog-leg is stiffened by a second piece and it's fairly common to 
see that stiffener broken off at one of the welds. If yours is broken, get it 
rewelded or exchange it with one of mine that I have already rewelded. Mush 
some grease into the works before you reinstall it.
