I've had them fail so they barely make a click after apparently charging up OK. I think the journey may shake deposits off the plates that short out a cell at the bottom, but that's just my attempt to explain the baffling effect. My bus did something like that - charged it up, started, drove 60 miles. loaded up son's college stuff, satrted up and drove 60 miles back. No problems. Next day it wouldn't do anything - battery dead, very low volts, and wouldn't recharge even with the charger. Dave.
