<x-flowed>i found the ad... it is on page 86 of jan 2003 vwtrends.
the place is www.barneysimportparts.com. the kit is up $129.50. looking at 
it, i now remember how it went. for the bug, you drill two holes into the 
parcel space from the engine compartment, then you connect some pretty nice 
insulated steel duct from there to the HE's and plug the fan shroud. this 
recirc the air in the cabin, but does not affect engine cooling (to my 
knowledge). but i did not use it that way, i didn't want to drill any holes, 
so i hooked them up to fan shroud, and all worked great. since i did it this 
way, i have all the parts from the old kit, but the fan and switch! i can 
see spending this for just those items. the cabin recirc sounds cool, but 
connecting to the inside of my fasty would be difficult, and probebly less 
that professional. i guess thats why its for the type 1. i'll let everyone 
know what i end up with.
