What do > you think? Look at the teeth on the flywheel as well through the hole that the starter came out of to check they are not damaged as well. If they are a bit munched it is probably a good idea to pull the engine and file off the burs, otherwise the starter might have a hard time engaging. The flywheel ring gear on 12V cars is hardened so it should be all right, but you need to find the cause of the starter getting damaged.
