As you see, it's a pretty long list.  If your car works fine on
6-volt, I'd suggest you leave it that way; do you really want to
mess with the flywheel for an electrical "upgrade"?  You can
install a 12-volt stereo by adding a second 6-volt battery in
series, and just trickle-charge it periodically (or swap the
two) when it goes low.

On the other hand, there might come a time during other major
work that the effort to go 12-volt is justified.  Don't forget
the bulbs, especially those dash warning lights!  And it should
be pointed out that you can keep your 6-volt wiring harness if
it's in good shape, since it is designed to handle double the
current of a 12-volt system.
