I know that the oil cooler is the same for Type 1 and Type 3 engines, except for one is flat and the other is vertical. Is that what you are speaking about? A friend of mine made a Type 1 outa a Type 3 by placing a cap on one hole and replacing the adapter with a Type 1 adapter. Worked just fine.
