<x-charset iso-8859-1>HenrikL=> is there any way to detect an air leak? Sure. Spray an aerosol that will affect combustion onto the various intake seams, etc. Lots of people use carb cleaner, which impedes combustion; some people use starting fluid or another flammable that promotes combustion (the less safe option). If the idle changes when you spray, you've got a leak, and it's usually pretty easy to figure out why at that point. The fast-idle cam on the PDSIT carb is inside the choke housing, but you can get an idea of the choke action by watching the cam arm on the outboard/front side of the choke housing as well as the throttle linkage. When fast idle is activated, this arm, which is linked to the bellcrank on the throttle valve, will rest about 20 degrees above its lower limit; when the choke warms up and releases the cam, the arm and the rest of the throttle linkage settles into normal position.
