<x-charset iso-8859-1>No steel wool. No metal-impregnated abrasives. Sandpaper is OK but not metal-impregnated papers. You can get a can of electric parts cleaner at your FLAPS to clean it. Thomas E. Fine sandpaper or steel wool? The inside of my generator is gunked up from oil and isn't putting out enough volts. 12v at idol, then 13v when I rev the motor.
