<x-charset iso-8859-1>Steven, Thanks for the info. That'll be easier than I thought. The next thing to tackle are the Solexes (?), and specifically the accelerator pump mechanisms. I have 6-8 carbs, from which I put together the two best mechanisms, but they're well worn out. I need new pump housings and actuator rods. Not a big problem short-term, since an idle is the only goal to see if the engine is toast or not. I will need to address this before the car hits the road. Fun, fun, fun. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Steven Ayres" <comwest@att.net> To: "T3 List" <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Saturday, April 20, 2002 9:29 PM Subject: Re: [T3] basic wiring question > JamesA=> being a '68 model Fastback, it should > => have fuel injection. > > Not necessarily; FI was an option that became pretty much standard for > US-spec cars. > > => I'm going to run (at least in the short term) > => dual Solex carbs. > > You may find you like them just fine. > > => how do I need to wire in the idle cut-offs > => and electric chokes? > > Build a little harness to run all four from the + connector on the coil. > Dead simple. > > Steven Ayres, Prescott AZ > '66 KG1600 > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe > </x-charset>
