Okay, good, this is the simpler 68-71 system.

That's fine.

That doesn't mean anything to me, it may be the Bosch date code. The part 
# should be stamped on one of the rounded sides. On original units and units 
purchased thru VW there will also be a VW #. It may be hidden under dirt or 
undercoating.
