On the same note I was always having a missing problem, anyway, the other day I changed my distributor cap, and voila!, no more missing, my Idle jumped a few hundred rev's and the acceleration doubled. Check the timing etc. if there isn't any fault with it start checking your whole ignition system - one spark plug at a time, then the wires, then the cap and rotor, condenser, points and finally coil.
