<x-charset iso-8859-1>BINGO! Chrome tin doesn't make an engine run warmer than black tin, UNLESS THE PART IS IN CONTACT WITH ENGINE OIL (Valve covers, drain plate, etc). Tinware is simply a channel for the cooling air to pass thru. People associate "chrome tin" with a hot running engine, but it's because the Chinese/Taiwan tinware is poorly made, and is missing many critical elements included in the stock tin (especially shroud and cylinder covers). Take german tin, and go to a motorcycle place and get a GOOD chrome put on it, and it won't rust and will run as cool as stock.
