I had the same trouble. On advice from the list I adjusted the hinges
and strike plates so the doors stood off from the body slightly for the
first 6 months or so, then readjusted once the seals were better seated.
Still a little hard to shut though. I noticed that my seals, though
German NOS, are slightly different than the originals on my 65. The
check rods originally had separate doorframe-mounted seals but the NOS
seals have them built in. It really seems like it's the seal thickness
around the check rods that causes most of the closing resistance. Anyone
else have experience with this?
