They don't do anything for vapor lock because vapor lock only 
occurs on the suction side of the pump, but they are still useful. 
For the most part, they limit the amount of gas that boils out of the 
carb bowls after you shut down the engine, thus helping to make it 
easier to start later. They may also help keep the fuel in the bowl 
cool while driving, but I doubt if that's very important because the 
evaporating gas coming thru the jets should keep the carb and 
manifold cold as long as the system is drawing in gas and air.

Perhaps one of our carb people will know where to get these. I'd 
think they would be easy to find.
