<x-charset iso-8859-1>1973 model numbers start in Aug 1972. About 55,000 by Christmas '72. Maybe the source you're looking at is starting at Jan 73. I'd guess that one is made in March '73, without further research. There's a big jump in Type 3 engines in '64 when they were being made for Buses (maybe about 200,000 or so 1500cc engines made that have no Type 3 for them). Otherwise there's spare engines and industrial units which I believe also count in the totals. Dave.
