Re: [T3] Front Vents Under Window

I just cleaned the vent on my latest acquisition(another'72 Variant). I held my shop vac hose against the grill and used a length of mechanics wire to break loose and break up any clumps of debris that couldn't be sucked back through the grill. Took about 45 minutes, but it beat taking out the air box. I'd already pulled the drain hose on the bottom of the box, used the shop vac and wire to suck the crud out the drain.

Being that I live in the Puget Sound Basin (we just entered the monsoon season), I'll add the warning "Check your door drain holes and your rear fender drains". I drained a 1/2 gallon out of the passenger door of the beige one after our first rain.

Drove it 50 miles home after paying $300, the only thing not working was the horn!

I use a big long tweezers, or a pair of chopsticks. You will also
want to pull the water drain hoses off from under the dash and
make sure that they are clean inside.
